DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

I am a private pay provider (not in-network with insurance) and bill $150 per 50 minute session.

If you are interested in my services schedule a free 15 minute consultation call.

During the call, we will discuss your needs and see if I may be able to support you

WHAT IS NEURODIVERGENT-AFFIRMING THERAPY?

Neurodivergent-affirming therapy recognizes that ADHD and autism are natural variations in how the brain works. Instead of trying to change or overcome these traits, therapy focuses on understanding them, reducing shame, building supportive strategies, and works toward self-acceptance.

WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE FOR ADULTS ON THE SPECTRUM?

Therapy for adults on the spectrum often includes support with overwhelm, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and burnout. It is collaborative and tailored to how your brain works.

CAN YOU BE AUTISTIC AND NOT KNOW IT UNTIL ADULTHOOD?

Yes. Many adults—especially women and marginalized individuals—are identified later in life after years of masking or being misunderstood.

DO I NEED A DIAGNOSIS TO START THERAPY?

No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to begin therapy. Many clients come in exploring whether ADHD or autism may be part of their experience.

WHAT DOES PLAY THERAPY LOOK LIKE?

Play therapy uses toys, art, and creative expression to help children process emotions, develop coping skills, and communicate in ways that feel natural to them.

WHAT INSURANCES DO YOU TAKE?

I am not paneled with any insurance companies.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES/RATES?

My rate for therapy sessions are $150 per 50 minute session. The intake session is $200 for a 50 to 60 minute session. Beforehand, I will review your documents (due 3 days prior to our first appointment) so we jump right into clarifying, digging deeper, and treatment planning.

A full fee will be due if an appointment is cancelled with less than 48 hour notice.

Please know, I do NOT accept/am NOT paneled with insurances, but I do accept HSA, debit card, and credit card payments.

I do require a debit/credit card to be kept on file.

I can provide you with a digital “superbill” document to submit to your insurance company at your request, but I am unable to provide additional assistance with this step. I cannot guarantee that your insurance will fully reimburse the cost of our sessions, but you are welcome to call them and ask.

Here is an article with recommendations on what to ask your insurance company prior to scheduling a consult call with me.

Commonly used “billing codes” at my practice:

  • Individual therapy, 50 min: 90834
  • Family therapy w/ client present: 90847
  • Family therapy w/o client present: 90846
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF NOT USING INSURANCE?

Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis (even for children) and often have strict treatment requirements in order to cover sessions; foregoing insurance ensures that the therapeutic treatment plan can be tailored to your individual needs. There are also no restrictions on telehealth sessions or classroom observations. No mental health diagnosis will be required or documented unless it is requested by you. Additionally, your insurance company will not have access to any clinical notes from our sessions without your permission. (If you decide to “superbill” your insurance company, this may be compromised—for example, a mental health diagnosis must be provided to the insurance company.)

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE INFORMATION

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” document explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

The Good Faith Estimate includes the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.

For on-going clients, I provide a Good Faith Estimate yearly and update it as needed if session frequency increases.

DO YOU OFFER IN-PERSON OR TELEHEALTH SERVICES?

Yes, I offer both. However, based on my experience, child clients do not engage well with telehealth sessions.

I highly suggest in-person sessions for children of any age.

Addressing adults, telehealth’s effectiveness is truly up to the client. Some adults are able to engage very well through telehealth, where others do not.

WHAT IS YOUR SERVICE AREA?

For in-person sessions, I am available to clients in the greater Spokane area. For telehealth clients, I am capable of seeing anyone living in WA state.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING INTAKE? IF IT IS FOR MY CHILD, DO I BRING THEM?

You will be asked to digitally turn in completed intake forms 3 days prior to our intake session. Our meeting will last approximately 50 to 60 minutes. The content of the session will be reviewing the paperwork (policies, financial arrangements, etc.), digging deeper into the information you provided, and determining an initial direction for treatment. You will be able to ask any questions about the therapeutic process, my education and techniques, and anything else you would like clarity on as we begin our therapeutic journey together.

If the intake is for your child (under 13), please do not bring them—they will attend the following session. If it is for a teen (13–17), they are allowed to do the intake by themselves or with you. If you are 18+, please attend the session by yourself. (Let me know if you may need to bring a support person.)

HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET FOR THERAPY? HOW LONG WILL THIS TAKE?

Adhering to typical standards of care, therapy will begin with a frequency of once per week or every-other-week visits, if availability allows. As you progress and you find yourself (or your child) reaching therapy goals, we will discuss decreasing frequency.

It is difficult to guess how long therapy is needed; healing and growth doesn’t have a firm timeline. Everyone is different. Some adults find success within 10–16 sessions, some children within 12–24, and others prefer to remain in therapy for longer while maintaining their goals.
